Click for more information about program cancellations and future study abroad terms.

Due to the ongoing and ever-evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation both domestically and globally, Illinois State University has cancelled all outgoing study abroad programs for the 2020-2021 terms (academic year, fall, spring, summer, and academic breaks). This includes any direct enroll and affiliate programs, faculty-led programs, international student teaching, and international internships.

The Study Abroad Team apologizes for any inconvenience or disappointment that this may cause; however, the health and safety of our students remains our top priority. We look forward to working with you to plan your study abroad adventure for a future term.

Study abroad programming is planned to resume in Fall 2021. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021, Fall Break 2021, and Academic Year 2021-22 is March 15, 2021.

Should a decision be made to cancel study abroad programs for future terms, students who have started and/or submitted applications within the My Study Abroad portal will be notified and this announcement will be updated accordingly.
